The load-bearing capacity of wood works in only one direction. Multiplex by Kerto uses a combination of several layers of wood, arranged in different orientation, to provide the possibility of using wood as a monolithic material with 2 directional load-bearing capability. The idea of this 3-D Multiplex material was to create a wood material that can be used for all three dimensions of load-bearing structures. Combining wood elements in all three directions also results in a reduction of the dead load by 1/4.
