This is, what we have been looking for for years: 3D printed glass components, to reduce the need for mechanical fixings with steel or to drill the glass! At ISM+D a number of 3D printing projects are active in the glass group (headed by Matthias Seel) – in cooperation with the Laser Centrum Hannover and the TU Ilmenau. The task is to investigate the technology, the functional potentials and the boundaries of FGDM – fused glass deposit manufacturing.
