
///Open Position at TU Darmstadt: Assistant Professorship W2 with Tenure Track for Structural Engineering
We are looking for an up-and-coming scientific talent with an excellent academic profile, documented by an outstanding relevant doctorate and publications in specialist journals. Particularly desired are candidates with follow-up potential, evidenced e.g. by joint publications with (international) colleagues or successful collaborative projects, and with experience in obtaining third-party funding as well as links to practice. German language skills are necessary, but may be obtained within the first years.
The professorship should represent the field of structural engineering in research and teaching in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Candidates are qualified in one or more of the following topics in the context of structural analysis, especially with regard to the existing infrastructure in the Glass Competence Center (GCC):
- Cross-material structural design
- Structural glass design
- Modelling and optimisation using numerical and experimental methods
- Use of new materials or combinations of materials in structural engineering
The research of the professorship should take on an interface function in order to further advance inter-disciplinary topics in materials research and to consolidate them in the department or to open up new research areas for the entire TU.
