Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing Lab, a shared activity of the intuits IFSW and ISM+D at TU Darmstadt, is focusing the field of wire arc welding to create free form components for construction. Interest and research are concentrating on WAAM for connections in steel buildings, optimization for WAAM and in-situ WAAM.

Key equipment:

  • 3 x Comau Smart NM 16.3.1, industrial robotic arm
  • Fronius CMT WAAM equipment
