The liquid façade tries to deal with the following factors: load-bearing, thermal mass for energy storage, and different possibilities of thermal insulation. By filling the middle pneumatic element with water, the thermal mass can be used to store energy. By varying the positions of the insulating pneumatics on the outer surface, the insulation properties against the sun and the cold can be controlled.
