The CornerShade

Cut. Fold. Coat. Assemble!

How can a simple addition provide shade while giving a repetitive modular façade a new identity?

The CornerShade proposes a lightweight, demountable shading element designed to attach to the existing façade without requiring a fixed mounting position. Made from folded sheet material, the system combines a straightforward assembly principle with a strong architectural expression.

Its adaptable connection allows the shades to be positioned where needed, while different patterns and colours introduce variation across the façade. The result is more than solar protection: the individual elements create a lively composition that can respond to orientation, use and architectural context.

Simple to manufacture, easy to assemble and designed for disassembly, CornerShade explores how a small façade intervention can combine climate performance, adaptability and identity.
