We are pleased to announce that Alexander Wolf’s dissertation, “Applied Additively Manufactured Ceramics for the Built Environment,” has been shortlisted for the 2026 Erich Mendelsohn Prize for Brick Architecture in the newcomer’s category. The research of Alex, conducted 2019-25 at TU Darmstadt’s Generative Design Lab, focused on the use of 3D-printed ceramic objects in facade construction and laid the foundations for comprehensive industrial implementation of this technology. His work opens up new possibilities for expression and functionality in brick architecture. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for him at the awards ceremony in Berlin on September 4th !
