///OpenFace Day 2026: A Celebration of Façade Education
What an electric day! On 24 June 2026, the Co-Creation Centre at TU Delft’s Green Village buzzed with energy as OpenFace Day brought together learners, teachers and industry professionals to explore the future of façade design education. Dean Machiel van Dorst and the head of department Mauro Overend kicked things off with a warm welcome.
The heart of the event was the Innovation Pitch Session, where 12 shortlisted teams delivered bold three-minute pitches on everything from circular materials to adaptive, performance-driven systems. A true highlight came with the awards: four outstanding student projects were honored, a wonderful recognition of this year’s talent. The day also marked the official launch of the Open Face MicroMaster, a major milestone for the whole community. As a hybrid event, OpenFace Day welcomed both onsite guests and a global online audience via livestream. It all wrapped up in true community spirit with a relaxed campus BBQ.
