///International PhD Workshop on Additive Manufacturing and Automation at TU Darmstadt
Researchers from the University of Minho (Portugal), Politecnico di Milano, and Politecnico di Torino recently visited TU Darmstadt for the W.AMCA PhD Workshop on Additive Manufacturing and Automation in Construction.
Hosted jointly by the Digital Design Unit (DDU, Prof. Oliver Tessmann) and ISM+D (Dr. Alexander Wolf, Prof. Ulrich Knaack), the four-day workshop combined scientific exchange with opportunities to strengthen international collaboration. Participants presented their latest research on additive manufacturing, robotics, computational design, and digital construction, followed by lively discussions on future developments in architecture and engineering.
The programme also included visits to Frankfurt and Darmstadt, providing an informal setting for networking and exchanging ideas beyond the lecture room.
The workshop highlighted the importance of bringing together young researchers and experienced academics from across Europe to foster new collaborations and advance innovative approaches for the future of construction. At ISM+D, we are pleased to contribute to this growing international research community and look forward to continuing these collaborations in future projects.
