The ARAG Tower dominated the skyline in Düsseldorf as the tallest office building since the 1990s. Designed by Lord Norman Foster and the Düsseldorf architects Rhode, Kellermann + Wawrowsky. The tower is one of the early examples in energy conservation and CO2 emissions reduction.

It is the headquarters for one of Germany’s leading insurance companies. The 124.88 meters tall building has a double skin glazed facade, the outer facade acts as a weather shield and the inner facade accommodates openable windows to allow individual control. The daylight had efficiently used and the whole system allows passive cooling with night storage to reduce the need for air conditioning.
