Ideally, the building envelope should be adjustable to seasonal conditions. The seasonal roof can be adjusted depending on changes in temperature and radiation. During winter, when more insulation is needed, the roof forms the building envelope. In the summer, the walls are converted into an overhang to generate better airflow through the house, and to provide more usable exterior space.
