On January 20th, 2026 Philipp Amir Chhadeh successfully defended his PhD thesis “Investigation of additively manufactured glass components for the built environment“ at TU Darmstadt. Throughout his dissertation he took a deep look into the mechanical aspects of printing glass on top of glass panes. His research provides a great insight on the behaviour of such “welded” connections and lets us anticipate thrilling new applications for structural and façade engineering purposes.
