The glass industry is undergoing an exciting transformation. Advances in technology are opening up entirely new possibilities for sustainable, functional, and highly customizable glass products. Glass is not only an essential material in many aspects of our daily lives – from multifunctional façade systems to ultra-thin, scratch-resistant films for displays – but also a true high-performance all-rounder.
Despite ongoing innovations, there is still untapped potential. That’s where the NextGlass innovation network comes in. Its goal: to revolutionize the glass industry by enabling more flexibility, sustainability, and new functionalities in the manufacturing, refinement, and testing of glass components.
In NextGlass, nine small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), two associated partners, and two institutes of Technische Universität Darmstadt are working together to shape a future-ready glass industry. An industry that not only meets current challenges but also sets new benchmarks.
