Task is clear: maximal transparency and maximal use of the material! So how would we build a shell structure out of glass with no supporting steel skeleton – this was the task, the consortium of TU Darmstadt, knippershelbig, yacht glass and Eastman took on and developed a shell system with laminated interfaces between the glass units. Next step after this full scale mockup: final adjustments to the details and a real project!
